U is for Ursitory #AtoZChallenge

August Xaver Karl Pettenkofen: Gypsy Children, 1855

Origin:  Romany Gypsies of Eastern Europe

Description:  The Ursitory are male spirits that appear before a child on third night after their birth.  There are three of them.  They determine the child’s future.  Once the future has been told, it can’t be changed.

Disposition:  I would assume apathetic.

  1. Another spirit I haven't heard of before. I can think of some ways for them to be spiteful in a book though... *brain smoldering now* Changing the true future, arguing amongst themselves, declaring the future is a blank slate... *wanders off to scribble all this down*

  2. These spirits sound pretty tough, with the whole not changing the outcome thing. Wouldn't want one visiting a child of mine if it's mood wasn't right. Yikes! LOL

    1. I know. I don't believe in fate, but if I did, I'd be pissed one showed up for a kid of mine.

  3. This photo is innocent and gorgeous with the most apathetic glare.

  4. I can't stop staring at the picture. I don't know if I'm in awe or creeped out. But definitely entranced.
