Blogging from A to Z, Day 1

I first heard of the A to Z Challenge a few weeks ago.  I thought it was an interesting idea and signed up.  They recommend that we keep the post short.  I’ve decided to do an abbreviated Faerie Friday post using the different letters of the alphabet.  I'll be covering faeries, spirits, demons and other exciting stuff from all over the world. I think it will be fun and educational! ;-)

Here goes today's:

A is for Alan

Origin: From the Tinguian people of the Philippines

Description:  Group of spirits that inhabit the jungles of the Philippines.  They have fingers for toes and toes for fingers.  They spend their time in the jungle hanging from trees like bats.  When they aren’t batting it up in the jungle, they live in houses made of pure gold. Talk about one extreme to another!

Disposition: They can sometimes be jerks, but they are generally kindhearted towards humans.  They have been the guardians of many the mythical hero.

  1. My father's name is Alan, and spelled the same way. Some of the description actually fits. LOL!

  3. Oh, this is good! I write young adult sci-fi and spec fiction so I know very little about demons and faeries and the like. Visiting your blog will be a way to learn! I'm doing A to Z, and I'm over at Catherine Stine's Idea City (#1157). Today, I'm posting about meaningful awards. Stop by!
